Our Mission

Our Philosophy & Goals

At MSC, we strive to develop the unique capabilities of each child. Guided by the work of Dr. Maria Montessori and informed by current research, our committed staff honors the natural curiosity of children. Our academically rigorous, self-paced curriculum allows children to work according to their own developmental levels.

The Montessori method of instruction is based on the principle that children have a natural desire and talent for learning. The school strives to foster this by offering the Montessori materials that allow children to think creatively and follow their developmental needs, and these materials are utilized during three hour, uninterrupted blocks. Instruction is individualized within limits set by the Montessori guides and their environment; the children may select and work on materials of their choice once those materials have been introduced to them.

In multi-age classes, children discover the dignity of work as well as the importance of caring for themselves and others. Because we enroll families from a rich array of backgrounds and educate students about cultures around the globe, MSC students learn to be citizens of the world.

Our goal is to foster a love of learning that will guide and sustain children throughout their lives.
