More About Our Board...
The MSC Board of Trustees is entrusted with the school’s governance and strategic direction. It oversees financial management, policy formulation, long-term planning, and appointment and evaluation of the Head of School. While the Board appoints the Head of School, it typically does not engage in other staffing, operations, or academic decisions. The Head of School assumes the role of day-to-day operational leadership, implementing the Board’s strategic vision and managing the school’s administrative and educational functions. This distinction ensures a collaborative partnership between the board and the Head of School, with the Board setting the overarching direction and the Head of School executing it effectively to advance the school’s mission and goals.
Meeting Procedure and Conduct
All meetings of the Board are conducted, to the extent most practical, in accordance with Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, except where otherwise provided by the school’s bylaws or applicable law.
Any non-Board attendees, including members of the public, guests, or invited participants, are required to observe and comply with the rules of order and decorum established under Robert’s Rules of Order. The Chair retains authority to enforce these rules, including limiting participation or removing individuals who disrupt proceedings or fail to comply.
Outside attendees and guests at Board meetings are welcome and are subject to the same standards of conduct and procedural rules as members of the Board, consistent with Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised. Please await recognition by the Chair or other Board member before contributing to the meeting.
